Rainbows

We have had great fun this week trying to make Rainbow patterns. We put some food colouring in milk and watched what happened when we touched them with a little bit of washing up liquid. The colours all moved around making different patterns.

We made some pictures using marbling ink. Andre thought his picture looked like "plankton that blue whales eat" and Isabel said hers reminded her of the Starry Night picture. The children were able to predict what they thought would happen to the colour of the water.

In P.E. we used the scarves and our bodies to try and make rainbow shapes.

The children enjoyed using real money to buy their snack on Number Day.

Our Learning Wood Animals went home with some of the children this week. These are given to children who have shown some great learning skills. Freya took home Butterfly because she was so proud of the enclosure she had made. Mason took home Squirrel for his exploring skills in the milk experiment. Jay took home Hedgehog for his pretending skills in the Doctor Role Play. Thomas Mills took home Badger because he showed good concentration. We hope that they demonstrate these skills at home too.

Next week our colour is orange and we will be learning about volcanoes.

Our sound of the week is 'k'.

On Wednesday there will be no P.E. as we will be going to Woodlands so please ensure your child has wellies and a waterproof suit in school.
